It’s a brutal tale set against a bleak wintry landscape and may be worth a watch if you’re a fan of the Western genre. The movie ends on a conclusive note but as one particular plot thread is left hanging, there is still scope for a sequel. But will we ever get to see The Last Son 2? What is The Last Son about?
As mentioned, the movie is about an outlaw with murder on his mind. After receiving a chilling prophecy from a Native American elder which details Isaac’s death at the hands of one of his children, he decides to roam the lands to take out his offspring before one of them gets the better of him. His task is made difficult because one of his children has gotten his hands on a very powerful weapon. He is also being hunted by a US Marshal and several bounty hunters, so his quest to murder his kin before they kill him is regularly interrupted by the intervention of others.
Will there be a sequel to The Last Son?
At the time of writing, a sequel to The Last Son has not been announced. There has been no speculation online about a follow-up movie and to be honest, we think The Last Son 2 is unlikely to happen. While there is potential for another movie, we don’t think this one was made with a sequel in mind. A final voice-over narration ties up the story of one of the movie’s main characters, and while the fate of another key character is left undetermined, it would appear that this one was made as a standalone movie.
What could The Last Son 2 be about?

The first movie ends with a voiceover narration that details the existence of another ‘last son.’ Should a sequel ever happen, we would likely learn more about this character and his part in the prophecy that was told to Isaac by the Cheyenne elder. As we don’t know if Isaac LeMay survived the events of The Last Son, it might be that he is a central part of the sequel, hunting down the last of his bloodline before they get the chance to kill him.
When could The Last Son 2 be released?
If a sequel is given the green light, there is a chance that we could see it on our screens sometime over the next couple of years. But as there is no word about a second movie at this stage and as The Last Son seems to be a standalone movie, you shouldn’t hold your breath waiting for news of a release date.
