What is The Girl in the Mirror about?
The Girl in the Mirror centers on Alma, who survives a bus crash that kills most of her classmates. When she awakens however, she does so with no memories of the incident or of her past. Her parents seem like strangers and her home is filled with secrets and mystery. Alma begins to suspect everyone around her is lying. Trapped in a world that feels mysterious to her, Alma sets out to unravel events leading to the accident. But the truth could well be more horrifying than she ever imagined, leading to some very dramatic and shocking reveals.
Has The Girl in the Mirror been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, The Girl in the Mirror has not been renewed for a second season. Given the nature of the show’s content, that could well change if it does good numbers for Netflix. Generally Netflix gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars) Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future. So far, The Girl in the Mirror has had a pretty mixed reception with most critics giving this show decent reviews and audiences (at the time of writing) split for this one. This is ultimately one of those horrors that could expand depending on how people react to it. Taking everything into consideration, we’re predicting that The Girl in the Mirror will be renewed for a second season. There’s definitely potential here and Spanish productions tend to do really well on Netflix. What we know about season 2 so far:
Barely anything is known about season 2 at this point, given Netflix have not green-lit a sequel. The conclusion does open things up for a follow-up though. After Alma gets her body back, Aurora ends up telling her that her journey has just begun. She gives her a flower of the water pendant, declaring her as the heir to whom will protect the world from the coming of Therion. All the pieces are here for an exciting second season, with Alma clearly front and center for the coming conflict. If this one is renewed, expect this to be the crux of the drama, with there likely to be another 8-10 episodes to devour.
