Purge Night Is Imminent As we reach the business end of The Purge, this latest episode confirms my suspicions that the finale will be held during Purge Night. With the foundations set for a very dramatic few episodes to come, The Purge finally makes good on its premise and delivers a decent second season, with some good progression for the various different stories. While there isn’t much in the way of action or drama to get excited about this week, all of this feels geared up for the final few episodes where all hell will inevitably break loose....

Driven forward by a gritty realism and an authentic recreation of a Nazi occupied country, The Resistance Banker is an impressive film and one well worth checking out, even if its pacing lets it down from being a more engrossing film. The story follows Walraven Van Hall (Barry Atsma), a banker who decides to finance the Dutch resistance against the Nazis during a crucial time in World War II....

More Twists Episode 10 of The Road: The Tragedy Of One begins with Eun-Soo saying goodbye to Jang-Ho in the church. She believes they should go their separate ways, eventually leaving him to wallow in his own thoughts. Meanwhile, Soo-Hyun remains vigilant and investigates Lee Mi-Do. It turns out during the dark dining date Jang-Ho wasn’t feeling well. Mi-Do stepped in and decided to relay all of Jang-Ho’s movements to the workers....

Jelly Beans Fantasy Korean dramas have been one of the more inconsistent genres coming from the world of Asia. While IPs like Arthdal Chronicles do well to present a gripping story, series like Melting Me Softly and Alice fumble with their ideas and fall into disappointing mediocrity. Netflix’s latest fantasy drama, School Nurse Files, gets off to a lively and energetic start in episode 1. It’s here we learn more about our central protagonist, Eun-Young....

Marty is a lot more assertive but that doesn’t stop him from showing up at therapy with Dr Ike. At least, after failing to get through to Phyllis on the phone anyway. In his office, Ike tries to get back to to doctor/patient relations they had before all this unpleasantness....

The Stand Episode 8 of The Stand begins with our trio of Boulder defectors stuck in a jail cell. At least temporarily anyway. They’re soon released to sit in a crooked court room to await their fate. Flamboyant Lloyd plays up the role of prosecutor as he tells the trio that in order to be set free, they’ll need to swear fealty to the Devil. Well, Glenn suddenly opens up and demands Randall Flagg show himself and present these demands himself....

The Devastating Truth Upon seeing Mo-Tak, episode 6 of The Uncanny Counter begins with the corrupt officers scrambling from the scene, leaving Chang-Gyu passed out on the ground. Ha-Na does her best to read his memories but he’s so drugged up she’s not able to do this properly. However, she does extract that Chang-Gyu is just the messenger boy; he has a brother called Hang-Gyu. This guy happens to be an executive at Taeshin Group....

A Place Of Safety Episode 3 of The Wheel of Time begins with Nyn slipping away from her Trolloc captors. She’s chased through the woods, as loud growls pierce the air, threatening to close in on her. Nyn keeps her nerve though, hiding in the water at The Women’s Circle before pouncing on this Trolloc and taking it out. This catches us up to the cliffhanger at the end of episode 2, as Nyn confronts Lan....

Therapy After the incredibly emotional episode we received last week, it was always going to be difficult for This Is Us to follow that up with another strong slice of familial drama. While not quite as hard hitting as The Cabin, Sterling K. Brown takes the reigns of the show this week and boy does he deliver an absolute masterclass in acting, accompanied in part by some very clever editing (more on that later)....

One Giant Leap Episode 2 of This Is Us Season 6 interweaves a consistent theme of love across two parallel trips; Deja heads off to visit Malik while Nicky begins his trip to see Sally. Both characters suffer with anxiety before though. For Deja, it comes from meeting Janelle’s mum, Jennifer. For Nicky, he’s having trouble communicating with Sally how he feels. They say music can really help rekindle memories, especially those suffering from dementia....

Through their intertwined lives, we see more of the past and how that links to the present. With the final chapter upon us, This Is Us looks to tie up loose ends while also slowly marching toward a conclusion that will likely see Rebecca pass away, given her crippling dementia....

Following a close knit traveller community, ‘Trespass Against Us’ is an intimate character driven story that doesn’t always deliver and it does take a while to warm to the law breaking character of Chad Cutler (Michael Fassbender) and his family but the interesting character dynamics between Chad and his father Colby (Brendan Gleeson) is what drives this film and ultimately elevates it from an otherwise good, but not great, film....

Changing Fates Episode 5 of Unbelievable sees Grace and Karen continue to investigate one of the victims, who believes that her attacker may have been a police officer. Given the way he raised his flashlight at the door, it’s consistent with the way her attacker raised his knife on the day of the attack, and it may just hold some credibility against Grace and Karen’s theory. At Lilly Darrow’s house they pull up a print and it matches that found at the other suspect’s floor....
