The Demeter After last night’s Doctor Who steered things back in the direction of the Russell T. Davies’ era, fellow former-Who writer Steven Moffat doubles down on his trademark style and time jumps with the second episode of Dracula. Now aboard the Demeter, the claustrophobic tone and slasher-film vibe combines beautifully with some witty dialogue as a reminder of how good this writer can be when he’s at his best, especially alongside Mark Gatiss....

Electric Enemy tries to find solace and the band wants their world to glow and grow into something beautiful and something special. Optimism has also been shattered on their 3 song EP Burn, which is a collection brimming in dynamism. Hooks aplenty, the record drills in its influence quickly, with instrumentals that have been painstakingly worked upon. Lyric-wise, the band has placed their guts into it, and they’ve let it all flow out and some of the words are portrayed angrily....

I Love You Episode 3 of Everything I Know About Love begins with the girls hanging out with their respective men. It is while they are in bed that Nathan and Birdy confess their love for each other. The next night the girls are eating and Birdy reveals what happened during the special moment between her and Nathan. Maggie congratulates her and it is clear that she is not particularly excited to hear this....

While Phoebe scores this success, Jayden struggles to gain approval of younger voters. Michael tells him he needs to change his style. Most importantly, he needs new shoes. Jessie worries that Phoebe is going to embarrass her when she meets her colleagues at a cocktail hour. One professor rudely asks what Phoebe’s podcast contributes to her field, and Phoebe defends her show well. “You, professor, are trash,” she says. So is everything and everyone around them....

Malika has her sights set on someone else. Her ex-boyfriend Damien, a former NFL player, is back in Brooklyn and running a soul food bagel café. Phoebe is worried that Malika is going to lose herself with him again, but she’s convinced they’ve both changed. Damien asks Malika out for coffee, which turns into a string of dates. She’s charmed by how often he gushes about how amazing she is....

Deep Trouble Episode 6 of Extracurricular begins with Gyuri trying to convince the Detective to leave but when that fails, the duo instead listen to the meeting from outside the room. Lee brings up the CCTV footage from the motel and asks who she was there with. As she mentions the March 28th date, Ji-Soo realizes what date this was, coinciding with when he saved her by calling the police. Ironically this may well come back to haunt him in the future....

This is Pengsoo Episode 3 of Extraordinary Attorney Woo begins with an autistic guy called Jeong-Hun beating his brother, Sang-Hun, to a bloody pulp. “Die! Stop!” Jeong-Hun screams repeatedly as his parents try to bring Sang-Hun back. Meanwhile, Woo-Young-Woo admires her new nameplate on her office. Myeong-Seok rings and brings her to his office. She’s going to be tackling that horrific beating case we saw at the start of the episode....

Comic-Book Rules Extraordinary You is extraordinarily silly and this will either make or break the experience for you. With a blend of off-beat camera angles, a meta storyline around comic books and a clever twist at the end, Extraordinary Life’s first episode gets off to a good start here, even if it does rely heavily on the overused high-school tropes to present its narrative. Dan-O is the self-confessed heroine of our tale and as she narrates our adventure, we meet rebel Nam-Joo early on....

From last year’s Curon and 30 Coins through to Archive 81, which literally released last week, there seems to be a growing trend of these shows and that’s a big problem. With so many other series wrestling for the same niche slice of pie, Feria: The Darkest Light is not a bad effort but it’s nowhere near as strong as it needs to be to justify its slow pacing and early reveals....

Corna Episode 5 of Fire Force Season 2 wastes little time picking up from the agonizing cliffhanger last time out and producing another dizzying, fiery episode of non-stop action. There’s some great moments here too and all of this crescendos into a team triumph against the Demon Infernal ravaging the city. To backtrack though, the episode begins with Haumea and Charon communicating telepathically. Both find themselves fighting their own battles though, as Arthur and Haumea continue to skirmish....

Love is a Battlefield Episode 4 of Firefly Lane returns briefly to 2005, teasing that a major character could be killed off in the upcoming episodes. Who could it be? Well, I guess we’ll just have to wait to find out. 1970’s Tully and Kate bunk school to do drugs. While they’re both high, Tully decides to break the news to her about her Mother… but then Kate has a panic attack before she can finish what she’s saying....

After getting home, Tully tries to reach out to Kate and her family but no one picks up her calls or calls back. On the other hand, her agent tries to smooth over the issue. She asks Tully to exploit the situation but she refuses. After numerous failed attempts, Tully visits Kate at home and refuses to leave until they talk to her. Johnny opens the door for her and tells her about Marah’s condition....

Unoriginal & Lacking A Cutting Edge There are some films that manage to break through the conventional, clichéd horror genre and become so bad they’re good. Flight 666 feels like a film that’s trying hard to emulate the incredulous hilarity brought on from films like Sharknado but fails to really nail the tone effectively in a film that fails on every level to be a convincing horror. There is some promise here though and given how low-budget this film is, there’s at least an attempt to make an enjoyable film....

Sacrifice Episode 14 of Flower Of Evil begins in the past as Min-Seok shows his son the missing person poster for Mi-Sook. When he suggests Hyun-Soo be the one to kill her, Min-Seok strikes. Only, he actually does so without the blade present, serving as a warning not to mention Hyun-Soo again. This seems to be the start of Hee-Sung’s murderous grudge against him. This catches us up to the events from last week as Hyun-Soo holds Ji-Won up as a hostage....

Yuki pouts that she didn’t get to meet Billy and Seng and chases Mon in her room but as they play around, she drops a box full of Sam’s photos. While going through the photos, Mon remembers when she first met Sam, 13 years ago. Baby Mon is playing with a puppy on a street when a car almost runs her over. But Sam comes in time and stops the car....

Happy Death Day After a brief prologue showing how Pat died back in the 80’s, we return to Ghosts this week with the builders arriving to do work on the house. Concerned they’re burning through money too quickly, the couple are met by another financial hurdle when they learn the drainage needs replacing. While Alison grapples with the ghosts and the builders in the same room, it turns out Pat’s death day is fast approaching....

Minnie and the Four Bodies Episode 3 of Girl From Nowhere season 2 switches tone once more to explore the hierarchical look at the rich and poor divide. Minnie is our central focus here and she’s accused by her teacher of cheating on her exam. Minnie’s Father is not best pleased and forces her to apologize. She’s adamant she didn’t do anything though. Out in the hallway we learn she’s a compulsive liar and her Father implores his daughter to use her head from now on....

The Mole Episode 9 of Gloria Season 1 begins with Sofia returning to the burned house and picking up her silver locket from the bedroom. On her way out, Anne notices her and invites the woman over for dinner. Sofia kindly refuses and hurries back home. Joao, still listening to the tapes obtained from Silveira, realizes that Sofia holds a big secret. It turns out she’s in love with Mia and the pair were actually involved in an illicit relationship together....

Another Spooktacular Slice Of Halloween Madness After its surprising success two years ago, Goosebumps returns to the big screen for another spooktacular slice of Halloween madness. Despite splashes of 90s nostalgia and charm that nails the tone of Goosebumps, the story sticks too closely to the first film, emulating the same plot mechanics right down to the magical books. Despite its lack of originality, Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween manages to deliver a fun, family friendly film with a fast pace and plenty of action, even if it can’t quite match up to the charisma the first had in abundance....
